It is completely independent<\/strong>. The property is set in 6 hectares of wooded parkland<\/strong>, a 5-minute walk from the old center of Villeneuve- l\u00e8s- Avignon. <\/p>\n

Each of the six bedrooms<\/strong> has its own bathroom<\/strong>.
\nThey are all connected to the Internet<\/strong>, air-conditioned<\/strong> and have king-size beds<\/strong>, except for one, which is queen-size. <\/p>\n

Outside, there are 2 barbecues, 1 on the terrace and the other in the pool enclosure. In the pool enclosure is a small shed with toilet and simple cooking facilities, including sink, fridge and all necessary crockery. <\/p>\n

The property also boasts a tennis club with 6 floodlit clay courts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The history of Clos du Viguier<\/h2>\n

In 1305, Clement V was elected Pope.
\nUnable to settle in Rome due to clan wars and insecurity, he established the seat of the papacy in Avignon<\/strong>, and for a century Avignon became the political and cultural capital of Christian Europe<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The cardinals – who made up the pope’s court – lived in palaces, called livr\u00e9es, in Avignon but also outside the city walls, notably on the other side of the Rh\u00f4ne, in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon.
\nOur property was one of these livr\u00e9es. <\/p>\n

After the return of the papacy to Rome<\/strong>, 18 owners succeeded one another at Montolivet until Fran\u00e7ois Mourgier, our ancestor, bought it in 1695<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fran\u00e7ois Mourgier was a musketeer and Viguier Royal in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon.<\/p>\n

It was he who built this house, which we have named in his memory<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
